Kannawidan Festival 2023

 



A stunning province called Ilocos Sur is situated in Luzon's north. It is a province rich in culture that symbolizes the historic Spanish and Filipino history. To demonstrate and share their riches to the whole world, the locals developed a celebration that promotes these cultural traditions and they termed it the “Kannadiwan Festival”. A celebration in the Province of Ilocos Sur celebrating the split of the two Ilocos provinces in 1818. This celebration features the greatest Ilocano cuisine, native entertainment, religious rites, and cookery demonstrations.

 

According to reports, the Philippine province of Ilocos Sur has the fifth-class city of Vigan. Most notably, it is a wonderful location that has been included among the most divine and enticing locations; it has charming and essential historical importance. As a result, it is a city province with a Spanish vibe that is evident in its cobblestone streets. In addition, this extremely enchanting and spectacular feature of Vigan, Ilocos Sur is an architectural marvel which has flawlessly and beautifully integrated both Oriental and Filipino building designs.


Here, kids may pick an appreciation for their rich heritage and culture. Ilocos Sur students, especially those in high school, take part in a customary rite on the first day of the festival. There are several tournaments that focus on the skills and ability of the pupils. A few of them include traditional tribal rites, choir and glee club competitions, marching band contests, traditional music ensembles, dance plays, traditional and folk dance competitions, and street dancing events.
